ADAS windshield recalibration
This is the fee most shops spring on you at the end, or farm out to a third party. We do it in-house, in our own controlled bay, and we tell you about it before the job, not on the invoice.
The short version
If your windshield has a camera for lane-keep or automatic braking, it needs recalibration after a replacement, or those systems can read the road wrong. We do it in-house with our own equipment and an AGSC-certified calibration specialist, and tell you whether your insurance covers it.
What this includes
- We check whether your car needs it, most 2018 and newer do
- Recalibrated in-house by our AGSC-certified calibration specialist
- Our own equipment and a level, controlled bay, the setup a static calibration requires
- The cost told to you upfront, never a surprise line at the end
- We tell you whether your insurance covers the recalibration
We recalibrate the safety camera in-house
Most newer cars have a camera behind the windshield for lane-keep and automatic braking. After a replacement it needs recalibration, or those systems can read the road wrong. We do it in-house with our own equipment and an AGSC-certified calibration specialist, tell you upfront, and tell you whether your insurance covers it. No surprise fee, and nothing farmed out.
Insurance, handled honestly
We accept insurance. In Virginia, comprehensive coverage usually pays for glass, but you owe your deductible unless you carry full-glass coverage. If your deductible is more than our cash price, we will tell you to skip the claim and pay us instead. One real number before we start.
We tell you exactly when it is safe to drive
The adhesive needs about an hour to cure enough to support your airbags in a crash. We do not hand you the keys until it is safe, and we tell you the exact time before we start.

Quick questions
ADAS Recalibration, answered
- Do you calibrate in-house or send it out?
- In-house. We have our own recalibration equipment and an AGSC-certified calibration specialist, plus the level, controlled bay a static calibration needs. Nothing is farmed out to a third party.
- Does my car need ADAS recalibration?
- If your windshield has a camera behind the mirror for lane-keep, adaptive cruise, or automatic emergency braking, then yes, after a replacement. Most cars from about 2018 on have one. We check and tell you.
- Is recalibration actually required?
- The vehicle manufacturer requires it after a windshield replacement so the safety systems aim correctly. It is a safety step, not an upsell. Skipping it can leave lane-keep and auto-braking reading the road wrong.
- Does insurance pay for it?
- Usually yes, when it is part of a covered windshield replacement. We tell you whether yours does before we start.
